Ημέρες Σιω ής [Imeres siopís] (Days of Silence)

This piece is born from some musical ideas I began to engage with ten years ago, in May 2007. With the exception of a public performance by colleagues who made me the honour of playing it live three times, this piece had collected dust for ten years, awaiting the day it would come to life. It patiently lived in silence for about 3,649 days…
it was worth the wait. I was determined to find the appropriate moment to present it in “its best attire”, when its time came, without showing any hastiness…Now the time has come thanks to Efrén and Bijan whom I consider the co-creators of this piece.
I dedicate it to the memory of our beloved Paco de Lucia, an Andalusian musician who was taken from us so suddenly, but whose guitar will always resonate in our hearts. SP
